Cash and small change
While credit cards are widely accepted, it's always a good idea to carry a small amount of Euros, especially coins. Some cafés, public restrooms, taxis, and small local businesses may prefer cash or have a minimum card spend.
Tipping in Italy
Unlike in the U.S., tipping is not expected, but it is always appreciated.
Restaurants: Service is often included or a small coperto (cover charge) is added to the bill. If you receive exceptional service, leaving 5–10% or simply rounding up the bill is a thoughtful gesture.
Taxis: Tipping is not customary, but rounding up to the nearest Euro or leaving a few extra Euros for excellent service is appreciated.

Florence is best explored on foot! Many streets and piazzas are paved with historic cobblestones, so we highly recommend bringing comfortable walking shoes. If you're planning to wear heels for the wedding events, you may also want to pack a pair of flats for walking between venues.

If you're connecting through another European airport before arriving in Italy, remember that you'll go through passport control at your first point of entry into the European Union. During busy travel periods, this process can take some time, so we recommend allowing a comfortable connection whenever possible.

Tap water in Italy is safe to drink, and Florence also has public drinking fountains where you can refill your water bottle throughout the city.

Early October in Tuscany is usually mild and pleasant, making it one of the most beautiful times of year to visit. Expect daytime temperatures of around 65–75°F (18–25°C), while evenings can cool down to 50–60°F (15–18°C).
We recommend dressing in layers and bringing a light jacket, blazer, or shawl for the evening, especially if you'll be outdoors after sunset.
